Just a day more this year,2011, will end,and people of Atambua the capital city of Belu regency show their variety habits regarding to the ending year as well as new year.Cake and drink shops look like a great feast that rounded so many people of male and female, children, youth as well as the old ages.Fireworks at everywhere thunder creating an atmosphere of war.Teenagers with strange hair look like gangs make grups at cross road street way,and some way they take in force some money from those passing through so that they may buy some alcohol to their grup.And many other strange acts of the youth.
Experiencing this demeaned acts of grups, the Regent of Belu called for attention of everybody to making this moment a reflection and evaluation time upon each work and life along this year going end.Meanwhile the authority of catholic church as an influence institution there at Atambua,as well as the police do not so much to fight against those make strange and sometime terrible to others.Is there no other way to celebrate this going and new year? At least according to our customs: come into grup rounding a candle and praying,talking and mealing togather all family members.Come on, follow the calling of the regent, making this moment a reflection and evaluation time.Happy ending and new year!
